A FUN and Educational choice for your children for the summer!
We recommend that anyone interested in a summer camp for their children does some research first. There are many different camps out there and it is important to find the one that is right for your child in order for them to get the most enjoyment out of it.
We are very excited about our camps and have many activities planned for the kids.
Camps will run Monday through Friday from 10am till 4pm each day except for the August 4th week then they will run from Tuesday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm. Kids can be dropped off earlier and picked up later if necessary for an additional fee of $15/hour or part thereof. We also typically finish up early on the Friday.
Our day camps are open for children 7 years old and up. If you have a younger child that you would like to get involved with horses, contact us and we can see if any of our other programs would be appropriate.
This year we are offering 9 weeks of camps with only 6 participants per week. For some activies all students will be working together, for others they will be divided into groups.
The cost per child is $375 per week (including GST). That's it! There are no additional charges. All material is included, the fee includes either board for your own horse or the rental fee for use of one of our horses.
Kids are asked to bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink
When attending a summer camp kids should be well equipped for all types of weather. Dressing in layers is usually the best policy. But they should be sure to have:
Jeans
Shorts
A light, short sleeve shirt
A long sleeve sweater
A jacket
(preferably water proof)
Footwear suitable for riding
(something with a small heel)
Hat for shade
Riding Helmet
(mandatory, a bike helmet works well too)
Sunscreen
Change of clothes & towel for sprinkler activities (weather permitting)
Water Bottle
Packed Lunch
Morning and Afternoon Snacks
We have both indoor and outdoor facilities and will utilize them based on the weather.
Every child will ride at least twice every day, beyond that the amount of riding and other material covered will completely depend on the ages, skill levels and comprehension levels of the students registered. As with everything we do at DJ Ranch, our primary goal is to learn through fun. Friday afternoon will be dedicated to our 'Horseplay Show' where family and friends are welcome and encouraged to come and watch some fun.
Summer camps typically fill up very quickly,
so we recommend that you book your spot as soon as possible.

July 20th to 24th (10:00 - 4:00pm) ~ July 27th to July 31st (10:00 - 4:00pm)
August 4th to 7th (9:00 - 4:30pm) ~ August 10th to 14th (10:00 - 4:00pm)
August 17th to 21st (10:00 - 4:00pm) ~ August 24th to 28th (10:00 - 4:00pm)
Early Bird Registration
Only $350 if you book your spot and pay your deposit before April 30, 2009.
Non-refundable $75 deposit required at time of booking to hold placing.
Refundable for medical or emergency reasons only.
